City of Anacortes Water Treatment Plant Manager Bryan McDaniel details the functions and equipment of the plant on March 8. The Anacortes City Council authorized a $16.5 million contract award to Strider Construction Co. Inc. on Monday to perform an outfall relocation project at the plant.

The City of Anacortes City Council voted to authorize Mayor Matt Miller to sign four contracts totaling nearly $17.35 million at its April 8 meeting.

The first contract tackled by the city council dealt directly with the city’s 2025 Comprehensive Plan. With the passage of HB 1181 by the state legislature last year, Washington cities are now required to incorporate climate change into their comprehensive plans.
