After five months of refurbishment, the historic downtown Anacortes sign was returned to its rightful place above Commercial Avenue at around 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 25.

“It was thrilling, but was even more thrilling is to see all of the people from all of these departments show up on time in the rain, and treat that sign so gently, with pride,” said Downtown Anacortes Alliance Secretary Kathleen Dickinson. “When it was up, it was beautiful, and everybody was very proud...And then there was a lot of comments from on social media about how nice it looked.”
