On June 17, I had the pleasure of participating in the Anacortes Pride Parade. For the second year, my church, Christ Episcopal Church of Anacortes, had an entry in the Pride Parade. The parade route was like a big party; it was truly a joyous event. We gave out 200 popsicles to young and old alike.

This year, we were joined by a group of Anacortes drummers and their teacher, master drummer Saeed Abbas. This local group actually practices in our sanctuary space, as one of the members attends our church. There was music and laughter and wonderful costumes. If you missed it this year, I would encourage you to join in the fun next June, which is Pride Month.
