More info, planning needed for kayak chute

On August 16 in the Anacortes American was the headline “Pass Lake Closed” and on August 23, one read “Lake Campbell Closed Due to Toxic Algae.” In the past we have read about thousands of dollars being spent on Heart Lake to control milfoil, algae blooms, and yellow flag iris. Last year even Little Cranberry Lake (LCL) was closed, for fecal coliform bacteria attributed to Canadian geese grazing on the non-native grasses planted on the north end. (The City of Anacortes is applauded for its plans to replace this grass with native vegetation).
