Young sailors and mentors headed out from Seafarers’ Memorial Park Saturday morning for the Pacific Challenge.
Jamie Carroll is going to the Class 2A State Tournament. The senior had rounds of 75 and 77 at Snohomish Golf Course on May 13-14 and placed fourth in the Bi-District 2A Tournament.
Brant Johnson finished second in the boys javelin on Friday at the Bi-District 2A Championships in Bellingham. His toss of 163 feet, 9 inches earned him a spot at the Class 2A State Meet.

The Seahawks bounced back from a 10-4 loss to Lake Washington to beat Burlington-Edison 2-0 Wednesday is a second-round loser-out game at the Bi-District 2A tournament in Lynden.
Anacortes’ Jamie Carroll had a round of 83 on May 7 to place fifth at the Skagit County Championships at Eaglemont Golf Course in Mount Vernon. Carroll finished seven shots behind the co-winners.
