A Celebration of Life for Justin James, 29, will be held on Saturday, July 6 at 1:30 p.m. at the Guemes Island Community Center.
Justin died April 27. He was born in Lyon, Georgia on July 6, 1983. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.A. in digital media.
In 2008, he moved to Guemes Island, where he volunteered with the Guemes Island Library, the Guemes Island Historical Society, the Men’s Breakfast, the Guemes Tide, and the Guemes Island Fire Department.
In 2011, Justin returned to Georgia where he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. His gentle, giving spirit touched the lives of many.
Charles E. Townsend (Blackie), 82, a former resident of Anacortes, Washington died on the 26th of June 2013 in Lewiston, Idaho after a long enjoyable bout of life.
He was born August 5, 1930 in Montesano, Washington. Charles Jr. was the eldest son of Charles and Alice Townsend of Guemes Island. As a young boy living in Seattle, Washington it was his job to climb under the fence and sit in a row boat thus reserving it for the family’s weekend fishing adventure.
Donna Reed passed away June 25th in Anacortes.
She was born in Brainerd, MN 06/04/1951. The family moved to Eastern OR while Donna was very young. She grew up in Pendleton where she graduated from high school & attended college before moving on to Oregon State University.
She married her husband, Scott 12/19/1971.
William Fredrick Charles Berthiez (Bill), died peacefully at home in Anacortes, Washington on June 25, 2013, three months after being diagnosed with cancer.
A true cosmopolitan, Bill was born in Paris, France on January 31, 1929 and grew up in France and Scotland. As a young man he attended engineering schools in the UK and Switzerland, after which he spent several years in the British Merchant Navy as a Marine Engineer.
Charles “Chuck” Noel Williams, 92, of Anacortes, Washington died Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Fidalgo Care Center in Anacortes.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 19, 2013 at the Anacortes Christian Church, 1211 M Avenue, Anacortes, Washington, with a reception to follow.

Velma was born December 13, 1923 in Salem, OR to Calvin and Ruth Lightfoot.
She entered into rest June 19, 2013 in Anacortes, WA.
Velma is survived by daughter Hazel Heiner, son Robert Inman, their spouses and grandchildren.
There will be no services. Arrangments are by Donovan’s Funeral & Cremation Services.
