Norma A. Young, 91, of Anacortes, passed away peacefully in her home with her family at her side after a long and fruitful life on Friday, February 8, 2013.
She was one of five siblings born to Mary Angela (McKay) Gagner and Theodore Henry Gagner and grew up in Friday Harbor, San Juan Island, Washington.
Norma is survived by her husband of 44 years, Stanton Young. They lived in Anacortes enjoying their retirement.
Born and raised in Seattle, Georgine graduated from Roosevelt High School. At the age of seven, Georgine and her family spent summers at Similk Beach on Fidalgo Island.
It was there that she later met and married Ralph K. Beringer, the love of her life.
The couple resided in Seattle and raised daughter Linda. Georgine volunteered at Children’s Hospital and was active in the golfing group, the Jackson Jills.
Melvon “Mel” Rueben McSpadden, 91, of Anacortes, Washington died Thursday, February 7, 2013 at San Juan Rehabilitation and Care Center in Anacortes.
He was born on March 14, 1921 in Rotan, Texas, the son of Rush and Ollie (Jester) McSpadden.
William R. Glassman, 73, of Blaine, Washington, passed on to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham, WA.
He was born in Everett, WA on August 24, 1939, the son of Richard Mayford and Sarah Ann (Turner) Glassman. After having completed 11 years of education in the Anacortes School District, his parents decided to move to Eureka, CA, where Bill completed his senior year of education. During this time he became an accomplished pole vaulter; and, as a member of the Eureka High School Band, played during intermission at the East-West Football Playoff.
William Reed Landers, 68, of Anacortes, Washington died February 1, 2013 in Anacortes.
He was born on December 28, 1944 in Seattle, Washington, the son of Earle and Esther (Lindblad) Landers.
Donald George Prohaska passed away peacefully at his Clear Lake home on January 13, 2013 surrounded by the love of family and friends.
He was born December 20, 1926 to Charles Joseph and Gertrude Capps Prohaska in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and had one older brother, the late Charles Anton Prohaska.
