Edna “Lucile” Broyles, of Bellingham, WA and former resident of Anacortes, died Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Silverado Senior Living in Bellingham.
She was born to Earl and Edna Ruth (Henderson) Willard on November 28, 1917 in Mooresville, IN.
Lucile lived and worked as a secretary in Ontario, California where she met and married Merle Broyles on July 21, 1946. The couple eventually moved to Anacortes where they built and lived in their home on Yokeko Drive for the remainder of their married lives.
Merle died on March 27, 1995. After a fall in 2007 and the need for caregivers, Lucile left her home on Yokeko Drive and moved to Silverado Senior Living in Bellingham.
Donna Rae Yeager, a Washington State native, passed peacefully among friends on the afternoon of October 18, 2013 after battling cancer.
Despite having battled cancer for nearly nine years, Donna remained eternally optimistic. She developed a “bucket-list” as motivation. Every time she checked something off the list, she added something new. Donna loved being in the company of close friends and family. She loved to travel, experience new adventures, and always made time to plan the most extravagant themed parties.
She was born on November 1, 1952 in Spokane, Washington to Carol and Chuck Meddock.

Services are pending and arrangements are in the care of Evans Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., Anacortes, WA and the San Juan Islands.

Judi Zippi Acker, an Anacortes resident for 21 years, died at home on October 11, 2013 after a battle with cancer.
She was born on January 19, 1943 in Los Angeles, California to Richard and Edith Zippi. Judi attended Lynwood Academy in Lynwood, California.
She was married to John Acker on November 19, 1981 in Los Angeles. Judi was a model, artist, garden expert and a friend to all.
She is survived by her mother, Edith Zippi; her sisters, Lana Shouten and Edith Luper; and her husband, John Acker.
A celebration of life for Mitch Harris is Sunday, Oct. 13 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Anacortes Yacht Club.
Steven (Steve) Glenn Krueger passed away in his home in the early morning of October 1, 2013, at the age of 52 after a courageous battle with glioblastoma (GBM) brain cancer. Steve was diagnosed with terminal GBM IV in November 2012.
Despite this, Steve spent the following 11 months just as he had his entire life, living it to the fullest, with great passion for his loved ones and undying optimism.
His contagious ‘can-do’ attitude and his ability to capture the positive and good in people around him will continue forever to touch the many friends and family he leaves behind.
