1968 ~ 2013

David Lawrence Babarovich, a life-long resident of Anacortes, passed away April 19, 2013 in Kodiak, Alaska. He was born to John (Pat) and Beverly (Rush) Babarovich on April 29, 1968, joining his big brother John, to complete the family.

Dave’s early years were spent walking the docks with his retired fisherman grandfather, John Babarovich, stopping at each fishing boat to hear the latest news. Years later, the older Croatian fisherman still referred to Dave as “Johnny’s boy.” His favorite activities included baseball, soccer, wrestling, football and duck hunting with his Dad and friends. He and his brother were active in the local Croatian cultural group, Vela Luka. After graduating from Anacortes High School in 1986, Dave followed in his father’s and grandfather’s footsteps, as a commercial fisherman in Alaska.
