She was born on May 3, 1954 in Jamestown, North Dakota. Her family moved to Culdesac, Idaho shortly after, where she attended and graduated from Culdesac High School.

Richard Lowell Threet

1924 ~ 2012

Richard Lowell Threet, age 88, longtime Anacortes resident, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 5, 2012, of natural causes.

Mr. Threet was born November 17, 1924, in Browns, IL. He was the first son of Ivy C. and Daryl Threet.

He was a graduate of the University of Illinois, where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry in 1944 before serving two years in the Marine Corps in the Pacific Theater as a Japanese language interpreter.

Macushla Reilly Jacot, 69, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, December 9, 2012 at home in Anacortes, Washington.

She was born December 30, 1942 in Bellingham to James Bryan Reilly and Dorris Beatty Reilly, a farmer and a teacher, respectively. Macushla started school in the Custer School District near Ferndale then moved to Stanwood prior to her 8th grade year where she graduated from Twin City High School in 1961.

Holly Martell (Borino) Manz

1947 ~ 2012

Holly Manz, 64, of Anacortes, passed away peacefully December 12, 2012 after a long and valiant struggle with lung disease. She was surrounded by her loving family at the time of her passing.

Holly was born December 21, 1947 in Hartford, Connecticut and attended The Mount Joseph Academy in West Hartford, graduating in 1965. She then attended Broadlean, a Catholic finishing school – presenting in 1966. After her presentation Holly enrolled at Franklin Pierce College in Rindge, NH.

Herbert Byron ‘Herb’ Hicks

1929 ~ 2012

Herb was born September 9, 1929 in Shelton, WA; passed away at his home in Yuma, AZ on November 15, 2012 at the age of 83, with his companion, Ms Edna Hunter, by his side.

Herb had suffered a series of strokes in the weeks prior to his death.

Herb had operated a service station in Ellensburg, WA and Anacortes, WA for many years. He also served as a port engineer in Alaska, servicing and maintaining fishing boats and cannery equipment of many years. Eventually living in Anacortes where he owned and operated “Bay Marine” boat repair service.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 15, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Anacortes.
A full obituary will be published at a later date.

Arrangements are in the care of Evans Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., Anacortes, WA and the San Juan Islands.
