Downtown Anacortes was draped in red, white and blue today for the celebration of Flag Day.
The Elks will host a Flag Day ceremony at 6 p.m. tonight at the lodge, 1009 Seventh St. Hear about the history of the American glad and the flags the country has lived under. The event is open to the public and kids are encouraged to attend.
The Anacortes Yacht Club hosted its annual Windermere Regatta on Padilla Bay Saturday and Sunday. Forty boats from as far away as Olympia, Idaho and Victoria ranging from 22 feet to 40 feet raced in four divisions.

Pennsylvania Avenue between 12th Street and Jasper Way will be closed starting tomorrow through Sept. 6 for phase three of a reconstruction project by the city.

Bark in the Park featured contests like best tail wag, best costume, bark and howl, best kisser and wackiest dog trick as well as canine cake walks, an agility demonstration and adoptable dog parade.
