A 50-year “Retrospective Show” to celebrate the work of the Anacortes Arts Foundation and look toward the future of the depot will be from 4 to 9 p.m.
The Seahawks easily outdistanced Mount Vernon, winning 136-47 at Fidalgo Pool Thursday behind Ian Schleh, who won the 50 free (23.42) and the 100 free (52.25) and swam legs on the winning 200 medley and 400 free relays.
A stingy Seahawk defense held Mount Vernon to nine first-half points and keyed a 55-38 Northwest Conference win at Williams Gym Thursday night.
The Seahawks were overpowered by Sedro-Woolley Wednesday night, losing 64-16 at home.
Students in the Anacortes High School’s Broadcast Club get hands-on experience directing, recording and overseeing the production of games and events that are streamed live on The Whale 1340, Anacortes’ radio station.

Each year Relay for Life raises hundreds of millions of dollars to support cancer research, prevention and treatment. The relay in Anacortes is a big part of the regional fight against cancer, and now is the time to gear up for another year of fundraising.
Relay for Life will hold its kickoff rally on Friday, Jan. 13 at Gere-A-Deli restaurant in Anacortes. The event will feature talks from cancer survivors, inspirational speakers, light snacks and beverages, and a performance by a magician to symbolize this year’s theme: “The Magic of Relay.”
“We definitely want it to be more of a party atmosphere, and less of a meeting this year,” said Anna Whitson, American Cancer Society’s staff partner for the Anacortes relay. She said the kickoff party is open for anyone to attend. People who want to participate in the relay can sign up there.
Twelve teams and more than 30 individuals got a head start this year by signing up for the 18-hour walk around the Anacortes High School athletic track in June.
Whitson said she expects at least 30 more teams to sign up for the relay in the next few weeks. Last year Anacortes had 44.
