Skagit County will kick off its Shoreline Master Program update with workshops to discuss the public’s vision for Skagit County shorelines.
The nonprofit Anacortes Center for Happiness is already hosting yoga classes and its calendar continues to have more additions. Events are located in the third-floor ballroom of the Keystone building, 619 Commercial Ave.
The only requirement is offerings must be joyful or life-bettering.

Officer John Taylor announced he will retire July 31 after serving 26 years with the Anacortes Police Department.
Anacortes was recently awarded a $675,000 federal grant that will make it safer for kids to walk and bike to school. It includes funding for street upgrades, education and enforcement.
The sunshine was out for the annual Fourth of July celebration Monday, which included the Town Photo, parade, Patriotic Program and fireworks.
