The Anacortes Chamber of Commerce sent out an e-mail today warning businesses that a Texas company selling sponsorships over the phone for local school sports teams is not associated with Anacortes High School.
The company, called Spirit Stop, claims the money will support local high school groups, such as the cheerleading squad. But AHS officials said the school groups do not have any ties to the company out of Grand Prairie, Texas.
Businesses or individuals who receive a call from this company are encouraged to contact the Anacortes Police Department at 293-4684.
