Port’s draft budget has less sulfur revenue Posted by Joan Pringle | Oct 17, 2012 | 768 views

The Port of Anacortes’ primary capital improvement project scheduled for next year is maintenance dredging at Pier 2.

The project is estimated to cost $1.6 million and is needed due to ships grounding while moored at the pier for loading. The port commission approved sediment testing for the permitting process of the project at its Sept. 20 meeting.

Port commissioners got a look at the 2013 draft capital improvement plan and budget at their meeting. Oct. 4.

The port is estimating lower revenues and in turn, lower expenses next year. The operating budget estimates $13.5 million in revenue and approximately $12.3 million in expenses.

Taking into account net operating income, net non-operating income and net environmental activity, the port estimates a net income of about $693,000 in 2013.
