The city public works department expects to start a water quality project at N Avenue Park along Guemes Channel on Monday.
The project will include installation of a permeable paver parking area with an underdrain system, water quality vault and a catch basin/manhole, replacement of storm/outfall pipe, and construction of a new section of road at the entrance.
Strandberg Construction will be doing the work for its bid of $92,000. A Washington Department of Ecology grant will cover the full amount.
The park just north of the Third Street and N Avenue intersection will be closed during the project, which is expected to be completed mid to late September. Construction will typically be 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, although construction may be allowed on weekends if necessary.
