A 29-year-old Anacortes man pleaded guilty recently in federal court to a possession of child pornography charge.

Conor Ryan Kelly Broderick, a Level 2 sex offender, faces a minimum of 10 years in prison and a maximum of 20 years. Sentencing is scheduled for September in U.S. District Court.

Between May 20 and June 2, extra law enforcement patrolled Skagit County roads looking for unbuckled drivers and passengers, and motorists using their cell phones or other electronic devices.

During these patrols, 58 seat belt infractions were written, in addition to 98 cell phone/texting or usage of other electronic device tickets.
