Income taxes, national debt — some things just make no sense

Recently President Obama appointed a “super-committee” composed of various members of Congress who were charged with coming up with $1.2 trillion of spending cuts over the next decade. Could these be members of the same Congress that has spent us $16 trillion into debt over the past several years. The super-committee, co-led by our own intrepid Sen. Patty Murray, failed miserably — as everyone knew they would.

I began researching wind after watching The Weather Channel airing video of tornadoes in Texas tossing 18-wheelers in the air as if they were toys. We’ve been seeing more and more destructive wind events lately, and this got me to wondering what causes wind and why are we seeing an increase in these destructive events?

The Federal Trade Commission has just issued its 2011 Consumer Sentinel Network Databook, and once again the Mount Vernon-Anacortes area is listed as one of the top seven metropolitan areas (per capita) in the country for fraud.

We need to get serious about fraud and learn how to protect ourselves and our neighbors.
