So many boats showed up for the Latitudes & Attitudes Cruiser’s Party at the Cap Sante Boat Haven this past weekend that several boaters had to be turned away from tying up at the marina.
The Overseas Anacortes, a 600-foot double-hulled tanker, was launched July 10 at the Aker Philadelphia Shipyard.
There is still time to vote, but you have to hurry. Ballots must be postmarked today.

Bud Strom stopped in the Anacortes American office today still energized by the recent reunion of the class of 1940. Yes, it was their 70th.
I checked out the Anacortes Fire Department’s new fire engine at the city shop Thursday. It sure is shiny — and I bet the inside has that “new engine” smell. City staff are mounting additional equipment before it’s ready for service, hopefully in about a month.
